I was walking down to take bus at Le Meridien's bus-stop last sunday, after meeting up my leader. As myself n JM parted, 1 of the 3 China guys (in their mid-20s I guess) approached me. I was like question mark... He asked me how to get to China Embassy from Le Meridien. Hmm, sad to say, I don't know where is China Embassy. But then, I started calling one sister from my Unit, who is also from China. She gave me the directions and I quickly gave them the directions. All I could say is that it is at the end of Orchard road, which is like very very very away... haha.. talk about describing with limited vocab... I can be the champ for that! haha~!
Then, when I took my bus and alighted at Raffles Hotel, I walked towards Bras Brasah Complex and suddenly, an early 50s-aged man, quite petite sized, approached. I was laughing to myself in my heart, wondering why today is such a day when people kept asking me for directions. It seems that I have an approachable face or a street-smart look... (literally street-smart isn't it?? Hee..) He asked me where is Bugis and how to walk there... if it is still quite a distance away. This time round, I could only say that it is this, "It is very near... just walk straight and you will reach Bugis." He started complimenting that I speak very good mandarin and asked if I am from overseas or something. I was like... hmm, quite a first time for someone to comment on my mandarin and that I don't sound like a Singaporean. haha... He further asked if I know Cantonese.
Hmm, how would I know Cantonese right? haha... Then he told me that he was from Hong Kong and he is now staying with his sister in Singapore. And guess what, he speaks very good English too. Guess that Hong Kong and Singapore has something in common. We were all once British Colonies. :p
Anyway this isn't the first time that people ask me abt directions. Maybe I have this gift of giving directions that I should start to offer others directions to a place permanent and eternal - the direction salvation. :)

I was glad that I had more rest than normal on a weekend and yesterday, I ended my work early to meet up Huimin for a while... but before I could even reach Lido, I was feeling quite unwell... and have to walk slowly to the cinema to buy movie tickets...
I smsed Huimin to help me buy some panadols to ease the pain.. haiz.. so she was rushing her way through to meet me there... when she saw me, I looked really pale. rested for a while and then we bought our Subway dinners into the cinemas to eat...
Watched Flushed Away... another animation... but we laughed heartily away... together with the kids (young n old) in the cinema... haha... it was funny indeed... the slugs sang very well siah... haha...
I enjoyed the show.. cos it simply helped me to gear up for more laughs...
Huimin and I had a very long talk and we had many common topics in mind... to talk about.. I am glad to have this girl by my side... she totally understand what I meant, even way before I verbalised them... and we were practically trying to fight to say what we want... and guess what?? Our chat ended at 11.15pm... 1.5 hours of movie and 2 hours of chatting.. woah...
Thank God for friendship in church. :)

After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied, " That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys. "

I had been teaching my three-year old daughter, Caitlin, the Lord's Prayer for several evenings at bedtime. She would repeat after me the lines from the prayer. Finally, she decided to go solo. I listened with pride as she carefully enunciated each word, right up to the end of the prayer: " Lead us not into temptation, " she prayed, " but deliver us from E-mail."

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.' Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!"

"Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered. The daughter bowed her head and said, "Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"

I was having lunch at canteen with my colleagues. As usual, we were laughing away heartily at the jokes that horseface was telling us... and one of the jokes is really funny. It was this incident when his taiwanese friend was having an english exam and the composition topic went like this, "One day, 2 ants walked in from 2 opposite ends of the bridge. They met in the centre..."And he had to complete the story. Thus, being a very smart guy but still, lousy in his english, he started to write the following...:
Ant 1 said, "Hi how are you?". Ant 2 replied, "Oh, I'm fine."
"Do you know how to speak 国语?" Ant 1 asked... Ant 2 replied, "Yes. Of course.."
Then Ant 1 said this, "真是太好了! 那我们就用国语聊吧..."
I had a good time laughing over this.. and up till now, I still can't stop laughing when I thought of this. What a brilliant idea of escaping from writing in english... haha...

I had a very slow morning. Was chatting with one of the senior managers from Cheers and was in canteen for almost 35 mins... woah!! haha... that is the luxury of PR, building relationships with colleagues from other dept. hohoh...
my colleague, hippo, was all smiles when she stepped into office today. She enthusiastically came up to me and said, "You know, I have something to discuss with you... and it is going to be very fun!" I was like.. haha... how fun are things going to get?? FP Idol competition, don't tell me you want me to join you guys?? haha... Then she added, " I met my with my uni friends ydae and this 25 year old guy is looking for a girlfriend... and you are the first one that came into my mind, for me to intro to him..." I was like.. pls lor...aiyo... i dun like matchmaking one lor.. so weird right??
So she happily went on to tell me how smart this guy is and how well he is doing in his career now... etc etc... well, to me, I can make as many friends as I want... That is not a problem at all. It is natural for me to make new friends every now and then. It is just me. But to know friends with an intention of developing into relationship? haha... that is kind of wrong motive in friendships isn't it?? However, I don't deny that some pure friendships can be developed into courtships later on. But that is what I want? Pure motives in friendships from the start, with no other agenda at the back of our minds.
That is when you can see the real side of the guy or girl that you are befriending... The weaknesses, flaws, strengths and characters, all will be shown as you get to know one another more in the circle of friends. I have no intention to hide any of my feelings and character flaws among my friends. However, it is also a no excuse to say, "That is who I am. Accept me or not." It is a very selfish statement to say things like that. It is just trying to say that I can be who I want to be. God created me this way and I have no say in it. I will just keep on doing things that I like, the way I want to be and run my life as I see best to ME! But God didn't intend us to function this way. He wants us to be like Him, closer to Him and even to be always living a life that is according to His plans. Should we think that God gave us a freewill so that we can be spoilt brats, I can tell you that it is simply not God's intention.
Anyway, I shall not keep on preaching (which I seldom do this in my blog nowadays..) or else you guys will find me a nag soon! Shall go now and later will be badminton session!! hehe...
