God's Word - The way life should be

Last Friday, the Adults came together in Nexus for a time of combined CG. Wow, the whole Nexus was filled with people and the adults came altogether to enjoy this time of fellowship. Pastor Jeff surprised us with a movie screening with a theme on marketplace ethics. It is kinda exciting to watch a movie with so many brothers and sisters in nexus. I remember vaguely that my last 2 movies in Nexus were "Left Behind" and "Passion of the Christ".

But this time, the movie gave a very good depict of the importance of Word of God in our lives. It showed us that when one hold the Word of God closely and firmly to our hearts, God will honor his , guide him through in all circumstances and exalt him above all things.

I can't help but have to agree fully with Pastor Jeff's sharing on Friday that the Word of God should be the focus of our living. because life can get pretty deceitful and compromising at times if we do not have the truth in our lives. I remembered saying in one of my previous entries about how hay-wire, messed up or confusing at times if one does not know the truth.

My spiritual walk with God has been greatly blessed since my youth days because my leaders and shepherds kept on feeding me, helping me to understand the Word of God. If not, I think I will just be one of the lukewarm Christians that are warming up the seat in service every Sunday. My leader used to "force" me to memorise the verses everytime. He gotten me a small notebook and ask me to write down and memorise the verses. I felt obliged at the start. But as I memorise for a while, I realised that the Word of God has brought forth so much peace and joy to my heart that I simply cannot stop memorising at all!

So I would like to encourage all to start memorising the Word of God as it will definitely bring you much blessings and joy in your life.

Below is a portion that I copied (illegally... haha...) from Ps Jeff's blog. Let us memorise these verses together and live life to the fullest ya? And here's a verse that I would like to encourage all:

Hebrews 4:12 (New International Version)

12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

So let us all start memorising these verses for now.. They are memorisable.. just take 5-10 minutes to memorise one verse each day.. You will complete them in no time. :)
